Fundamental Acoustic Finger Force for Out-of-Plane Ultrasonic Vibration and its Correlation with Friction Reduction
Archive ouverte : Article de revue
International audience. When a finger touches an ultrasonic vibrating plate, a non sinusoidal contact force is produced. This force is denominated acoustical finger force. In this paper, a method is proposed, in order to observe its fundamental component in the context of a friction reduction haptic interface. A PCA (Principal Component is applied to the measured data, which will help evaluate the correlation between this measurem ent and the friction when sliding the finger. A linear model that predicts the friction coefficient is laid down and evaluated The interest of this study is to provide a mean to adapt the tactile feedback device control to each user, despite of the biomec hanical properties differences within each finger pad.
