International audience. Toward Reliable and Efficient Solutions.Oil–water contamination is a global issue, with serious impacts on ecosystems and the environment. Materials with tunable wettability characteristics have emerged to separate oil–water mixtures and emulsions. This two-volume set (1407, 1408) presents fundamental principles and mechanistic views of oil–water separation processes and wetting theories. This volume introduces the field, basic principles, and techniques for oil–water separation and oil spill removal. The authors highlight membrane materials, nanomaterials, and polymers, to name a few. Chemical engineers, materials scientists, and environmental chemists in industry and academia will find this work especially helpful.
