Quand la musique est bonne : le handicap psychique et ses représentations dans un quartier lillois (France)

International audience. Starting from some unexpected effects found in the course of research, this article is concerned with musical culture in its pragmatic function as a medium. The performativity of a piece of music, seen through the prism of the notion of object in relation (Fevry 2015) is illustrated by its capacity to form a link between the different players of the project in question, which was to conceive and broadcast a radio program produced and animated by people with a psychic disability. However, the musical work has proved to allow these people to exist personally and to act socially, imposing themselves in the construction of relations and supporting the durability of the show. We will also see that it questions more broadly the contemporary problem of the handicap, especially concerning the use of the usual classifications and the relations between researchers and chroniclers of the emission. . A partir d’effets inattendus apparus dans une recherche-action, cet article approche la culture musicale dans sa fonction pragmatique de médiation. La performativité de l’œuvre musicale, au prisme notamment de la notion d’objet relationnel (Fevry, 2015), est illustrée par sa capacité à faire lien entre différents acteurs du projet concerné. Celui-ci consistait à concevoir et lancer une émission de radio produite et animée par des personnes présentant un handicap psychique. Or l’œuvre musicale s’est révélée permettre à ces personnes d’exister personnellement et d’agir socialement, s’imposant dans la construction des relations et soutenant la pérennité de l’émission. Nous verrons aussi qu’elle interroge plus largement la problématique contemporaine du handicap, particulièrement concernant l’usage des classifications usuelles et les rapports entre chercheurs et chroniqueurs de l’émission.
