Deux kairos émergent de l'itinéraire du théologien jésuite René Marlé (1919-1994), disciple de Henri de Lubac et spécialiste de la théologie protestante allemande : d'une part, la période conciliaire, 'narthex" d'une oeuvre qui combat une conception extrinséciste du dogme et de la foi, d'autre part, l'écriture du Catéchisme pour adultes des évêques de France (1988-1991) dont il fut le rédacteur principal. L'ouvrage est sous-tendu par le principe fondamental suivant : la Révélation est histoire ; elle n'est pas extérieur au langage qui la dit ; le chemin qui y conduit relève de sa dynamique ; la vérité ne doit donc pas être coupée de son corps d'expression. R. Marlé cherchait à écrire un catéchisme doctrinal et missionnaire mais sa démarche biblique, christologique et herméneutique fut contestée ; les implication epistémologiques du tournant théologique opéré par Vatican II, occultées. Le théologien dénonce dans ses écrits des dualismes tenaces. Les crises théologiques et catéchétiques du XXe siècle sont inachevées ; la distinction établie dans Gaudet Mater Ecclesia par Jean XXIII entre les "vérités contenues" dans la doctrine et la "forme" sous laquelle celles-ci sont exprimées, vacille. L'écriture de R. Marlé témoigne qu'un langage catéchétique n'est pas l'enveloppe d'une vérité préexistante s'il est entrelacé au langage des hommes et forgé dans le mémorial pascal à partir des récits bibliques et des symboles qui tissent son organicité. Il entretient alors la distance nécessaire à une "reprise" de parole. L'écriture d'un catéchisme doit s'édifier à partir de ce principe de hiérarchie des vérités dans le processus catéchétique et herméneutique initié par Jésus-Christ. L'oeuvre explorée est une "poétique" de la grâce à même de soutenir la catéchèse "kérygmatique" et mystagogique" prônée par François et une herméneutique du Directoire pour la catéchèse (2020), c'est-à-dire d'un magistère en paroles et actes qui déploie le geste du Concile Vatican II.
Two kairos periods emerge from the itinerary of jesuit theologian René Marlé (1919-1994), a disciple of Henri de Lubac and a specialist of German protestant theology. On the one hand, there is the conciliar period of the "narthex" of his work that combats an extrinsicist conception of dogma and faith. On the other hand, there is the writing of the Catechism for adults of the bishops of France (1988-1991), of which he was also the principal editor. This work is underpinned by the following fundamental principle : revelation is history ; it is not external to the language that expresses it ; the path that leads to it is part of the dynamic ; the truth must not therefore be cut off from "its body of expression". R. Marlé sought to write a doctrinal and missionary cathechism, but his biblical, christological and hermeneutical approach was conested, and the epistemological implications of the theological turn taken by Vatican II were neglected. in his writings, the theologian denounced tenacious dualism. The theological and catechetical crises of the 20th century have not been resolved. The distinction established in Gaudet Mater Ecclesia by John XXIII between "the truths contained" in doctrinal of "the form" in which they are expressed, continues to waver. The work of R. Marlé testifies that catechetical language is not the envelope of pre-existing truth if it is interwoven with human expression and forged with the paschal memorial of the biblical-narratives and the symbols which weave its organicity. Catechetical language then maintains the distance necessary for a "recovery" of the word. Writing a catechetism must be built on this principle of a hierarchy of truths, in the catechetical and hermeneutical process initiated by Jesus Christ. The work explored is a "poetics" of grace, capable of supporting the "kerygmatic and mystagogical" catechesis advocated by Francis and an hermeneutic of the Directory for Catechesis (2020), in other words, a magisterium in word and deed which discloses the hermeneutical movement of the Second Vatican Council.
