Borrow a librarian service charter
This service is destined to students, teachers and staff at Université Catholique de Lille and all affiliated schools, as well as to external readers with a trimester or yearly subscription.
How does it work? The reader books an appointment with a librarian. During this meeting, the librarian will help the reader with a precise question which could not be answered by the other services of the library (reception desk help, email support, training session).
This service is free of charge. Just like the training sessions offered by the library, this service aims to help readers become autonomous in their research.
I / BOOKING A SLOT
The reader can book an appointment at the following address: formation.buv@univ-catholille.fr
In their email, the reader must specify their request: explain their question and indicate if there are slots when they are not available.
- A librarian will shortly get back to them with a proposition for a slot.
When the library is officially closed, no appointment can be booked. You can find the opening hours of the library on our website: https://bibliotheque.univ-catholille.fr
II / THE LIBRARIAN'S COMMITMENTS
The librarian is committed to respecting the slots booked by the readers except in case of emergency. Should this be the case, the librarian commits to finding an alternative within the limits of the service. Should the librarian be unable to attend the appointment, they commit to proposing a new slot to the reader as soon as possible.
The librarian commits to performing all the research needed to find a solution to the reader’s question. They commit to request the help of specialized colleagues if needed, for example: subject librarians if the reader’s question pertains to the specificity of a collection.
Should the reader be late, the librarian commits to waiting for 15 minutes. Past this period, the librarian is no longer required to participate in the appointment.
The librarian commits to being considerate in their exchanges with the reader.
III / THE READER'S COMMITMENTS
The reader commits to attending the online appointment or to letting the library team know in advance should they be late or not able to participate anymore at the following address: formation.buv@univ-catholille.fr
Should the reader arrive for the appointment with a delay greater than 15 minutes, they may be denied participation in the appointment if they have not let the team know in advance.
After 3 missed appointments, either canceled in an untimely manner or three delays, the reader will be denied any future booking.
The reader commits to signing up alone to the appointment. The librarian will meet with only one person at a time.
The reader commits to not making the librarian do their work for them. They come to seek advice and help on various subjects, they will be the sole author of their work.
- The appointments with a librarian are not meant for reserving books. Book reservations are made online on the library’s website on the reader’s own initiative.
The appointments are not meant to solve a connection problem to the electronic resources. Should the reader need help with this issue, they must contact the library team via the contact form. During the appointment, a reminder of how to use the electronic resources can be made should the reader need clarifications.
To optimize the appointments, the reader will be asked to create his reader account on the library’s website prior to the appointment.
To optimize the appointments, the reader commits to describing his request properly so that the team has time to provide the most efficient answer possible.
